Ask Thy Monk

About Ask Thy Monk

Why this exists

You cannot sit before a great teacher and ask what weighs on you. You cannot put a question to an ancient text and hear it reply. The voices that shaped centuries of inner life are not here to be asked. Ask Thy Monk exists to close that distance — a quiet place to bring your real questions, and receive answers drawn strictly from what these teachers and teachings actually said.

How it answers

Every answer is grounded in the actual source material — the indexed words of the teachings themselves. For each question, the app finds the most relevant passages in that library and answers only from them. It is built to draw nothing from the open internet and to add nothing of its own. And when the sources simply don't address what you've asked, it's designed to say so plainly rather than invent an answer. That restraint — answering only from real, cited sources, and staying honest when they're silent — is the whole point.

The sources

Today, the library is grounded in the teachings of Osho — a large and growing collection of his talks, with every answer cited to the book it came from. The collection is continually expanding: the Bhagavad Gita, the Vedas, and the Puranas are among the sources being prepared for inclusion. As the library grows, so does the range of questions that can be answered from the source itself.

Available in Hindi and English, by text or by voice.
